Canberra Matrix 190: how invitations and scores work
The Canberra Matrix ranks expressions of interest for ACT nomination. If you are invited, the invitation is to apply for nomination. It is not itself a visa grant.
Read your stage correctly
Matrix submission comes before an invitation to apply for nomination. A successful nomination is a separate step from the Department of Home Affairs visa process. Use the wording in your own government correspondence.
Why scores differ
ACT ranks applicants within occupations. Demand, available places and the number of invitations influence selection. Historical rankings are context, and do not guarantee a future invitation.
Use the right applicant criteria
Canberra residents and overseas applicants have separate criteria. Review the current ACT guidance and supporting evidence requirements before acting. This publication does not assess individual eligibility.
